My Story
After living through and recovering from trauma, unhealthy coping skills, and unhealthy relationships, I felt a calling to use my pain and healing to assist others.
I specialize in helping you identify and achieve your goals by coping with the interpersonal issues and past events that are causing you pain.
I take great pride in the progress and success of my clients, and look forward to helping you! I am in trained in research-based methods, and will work with you to figure out which method fits you and your situation. I believe in equality for all individuals and welcome people who feel that nobody can help them.

I have helped my clients break through obstacles of every kind. By asking the right questions, listening and understanding the answers, and having a variety of tools and techniques to us, I help my clients meet their goals. Life is too short to be unhappy, in pain, and unfulfilled –

My Education/Experience
I am a licensed professional counselor supervisor, a licensed chemical dependency counselor, and a master addiction counselor. I am certified in EMDR, as well as an EMDRIA approved consultant, basic trainer and CE provider. I earned a bachelors degree in criminal justice and psychology from Texas Woman’s University, a master’s degree in criminal justice from Tarleton State University, a master’s degree in counseling from Southern Methodist University, and a doctoral degree in Counselor Education and Supervision. I am a contributing faculty for masters in clinical mental health and the area clinician for the DEA. I also volunteer for many local agencies who assist individuals with mental health issues.

I have been trained in Gottman Levels 1, 2 & 3, couples and addiction recovery, and working with complex couples. I am a Gottman educator and hold 7 principles marriage seminars. I have an extensive background working with complex couples, trauma (specifically childhood sexual abuse), addiction, PTSD, LGBTQ +, chronic mental illness, families, self-esteem and self discovery. I have also been trained in sex therapy by the Buehler institute and conduct sex therapy. I have been trained in use Gottman methods, motivational interviewing, DBT, solution-focused therapy, CBT, emotion-focused therapy and many more methods!!
I also have passion and skills for teaching in counselor education and criminal justice and holding trainings all over the US for mental health related topics, law enforcement (federal and local) topics, telehealth, couples, LGBTQ+ issues, and much more.
I have experience with all ages and a passion for working with adults, adolescents, couples, and families. I believe that all people have the right to be heard, have the ability to heal, and get to “write their own story.”
